Earlier this year, NRS teamed up with American Rivers and Chaco to support the film, The Important Places, by Forest Woodward and Gnarly Bay Productions. This beautiful story of a father and son rediscovering the important places together captured audiences at film festivals and on their home screens nationwide, winning the Most Inspiring Award at 5Point Film Festival and earning a Vimeo Staff Pick. Filmmaker Forest Woodward will be on hand for the event and The Important Places will be screening in the NRS booth.

This film helped to shine a light on America’s Most Endangered River® of 2015: the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon, which is under threat from a massive construction project, mining pollution and groundwater depletion.

In addition to celebrating The Important Places at Outdoor Retailer, this new partnership aims to continue the celebration and continue to tell the stories of America’s favorite rivers and streams—and redouble efforts efforts to protect them. NRS is a proud new partner of the American Rivers National River Cleanup®.
