MOUNT PROSPECT, IL (August 28, 2006) – The National Sporting Goods Association (NSGA) today launched the expanded NSGA Sporting Goods Buying Guide, providing more than 22,000 retail stores direct and immediate access to this unique search tool. Available through a link on the Association’s homepage (www.nsga.org), the expanded NSGA Sporting Goods Buying Guide features a broad array of sporting goods products and services listings that will aid NSGA members in their purchasing decisions.
“Sporting goods retailers and dealers will be able to use the NSGA Sporting Goods Buying Guide to seek out those sporting goods manufacturers by company, product and brand name, helping them solve problems and maximize the performance of their businesses,†said NSGA President & CEO Jim Faltinek. “We’re very pleased to provide this expanded and extremely effective online search tool.â€
Within the expanded NSGA Sporting Goods Buying Guide, two different methods of searching for products and services are available – either a keyword-driven, search-engine search or a category search by type of business.
The expanded NSGA Sporting Goods Buying Guide is equipped with a powerful search engine that continually indexes the websites of all companies represented in the directory. Therefore, members can easily find products and services unique to their industry without the clutter of a general Internet search.
Users preferring the more traditional way of searching through a manufacturers guide can search by category, product or brand name. The results of the category-specific providers will be listed in alphabetical order. Within the results for either type of search, company names, addresses and phone numbers are available. Additionally, many companies choose to include website and e-mail addresses, as well as detailed product information.
NSGA partnered with MultiView, Inc, an Irving, Texas-based publisher of electronic buyer and supplier guides, to develop the expanded NSGA Sporting Goods Buying Guide. “NSGA members will now be able to find the exact products and services they need easily by searching the expanded NSGA Sporting Goods Buying Guide,†Dan Maitland, MultiView President. “Professionals in the sporting goods industry will have access to their industry’s leading online resource for products and services and cut through the clutter of multiple search engines, all at the same time.â€
