Seattle, WA (May 21, 2010) – nuun, the company that continues to change the athletic hydration market, has been providing world-class athletes and adventurers with active hydration for over nine years now. nuun’s light, refreshing tabs allow these athletes and active folks a simple way to replenish electrolytes wherever they are – no matter how far they’ve run, swam or how high they’ve climbed.

In this case it just happens to be Mount Everest, escaping from Alcatraz, and travelling 4,500 miles across the United States, where three members of nuun’s elite athlete team are staying hydrated while achieving active goals, setting new records and pursuing aspirations.

Attempting to become the youngest member to climb the world’s highest seven summits, 13-year old Jordan Romero presently awaits a weather window at Camp 2 on the North Col to make a summit bid on the Tibetan side of Everest. With nuun keeping his hydration and electrolyte balance in check he’ll be able to maintain his focus on the task at hand. Jordan has also issued a Facebook challenge to his classmates and fellow teens to cut sugar and drink water.

“Jordan has been an advocate of making your water count since he joined the team at age 11,” said Tim Moxey, founder of nuun.

World class triathlete and nuun evangelist, Leanda Cave also flew through the 1.5 mile swim, 18 mile bike, and 8 mile run to take a 3-time victory at the infamous Escape from Alcatraz Triathalon on May 2nd. On May 16th, Cave went for another 3-peat victory at the Rohto Ironman 70.3, where she not only won, but also set another new course record. Cave’s next race is in two weeks at the 2010 TriGrandPrix in the UK.

Cave said of her victory at the Rohto 70.3, “I thought of nothing less than winning this event once again and pushed myself to exhaustion to get the record.”

nuun also has another advocate out to accomplish a life-long mission, Mike Eherat, who is running from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean this summer to honor and remember service members lost in the Iraq war. He is currently placing American Flags bearing the name, rank, service, and age of those whose dreams and ambitions were taken so quickly from us.

nuun, would like to encourage everyone to follow these the pioneers as they turn the corner on their dreams and passion. While promoting daily hydration and making your water count in life’s everyday activates.
