Oboz proudly stays ‘True to the Trail’ for Spring 2012, and will strut its stuff with the introduction of two new women’s-specific light hikers, a top-of-the-line backpacking boot and an all-leather hiking shoe. Here a sneak peak at the Oboz line-up:
Two styles just for women: Mystic BDRY
When spring rolls around in 2012, women will have some women’s-specific choices in Oboz hiking footwear—shoes designed specifically for the unique shape of their feet. The Mystic Mid BDry and Mystic Low BDry are built on a completely new women’s last developed by the Oboz team. A cadre of women—enthusiasts, mountain guides, athletes and trail builders—tested the last shape and resulting shoes throughout their development. Both Mystics blend Nubuck leather and abrasion-resistant, breathable nylon textile, with added support and durability coming from contrasting leather overlays. The upper is lined with BDRY, Oboz’ proprietary membrane that keeps feet dry and comfortable. Nylon embroidery and a stylized Bitterroot flower add flourish. Both shoes get Oboz’ best quality ‘BFIT Deluxe’ footbed and high durability carbon rubber outsole. The Mystics’ dual-density EVA midsole cushions the foot and is coupled with a mid-foot nylon arch shank.
Beartooth BDRY: premiere backpacking boot
Oboz prioritizes fit, control and agility in the Beartooth BDRY, its new, top-of-the-line backpacking boot for spring 2012. Heel-lock webbing integrates into the boot’s unique, three-dimensional external heel counter. A durable, two-part polyurethane midsole and full-length lasting board will give stability on the trail or off the beaten path. The Beartooth is made of Nubuck leather, lined with waterproof/breathable BDRY and a glove leather lining. Oboz’ most supportive and best quality BFIT Deluxe footbed rounds out the design. The Beartooth BDRY is made for men and women (shown here).
Arete: all-leather low cut hiker
Oboz’ sturdy and nimble light hiker is inspired by the Teton range, where you might just want to knock off a high pass but need comfortable shoes to take the knocks to get you there. The low profile outsole has many small lugs, and the midsole combines durable polyurethane and lighter weight EVA for cushioning. Nubuck leather upper is supple and conforming and blucher-style lacing extends to the toe for an adaptable fit. O-shaped grab loop at the heel is handy and a molded rubber toe cap fends off rocks and roots along the way. The Arete includes, again, Oboz’ best footbed.
