SAN CLEMENTE, Calif., -April 8, 2010 – On a mission to live, protect and respect the environment, Ocean Minded,™ a leading brand in high quality footwear, apparel and accessories for active outdoor enthusiasts, has joined The Conservation Alliance, the most visible and effective conservation organization in the outdoor industry.

With more than 170 member companies, The Conservation Alliance is dedicated to the protection of wild places for their habitat and recreation values. The Alliance achieves their goals by granting its collective annual membership dues to grassroots environmental organizations.

This partnership is a natural fit for Ocean Minded as the company continues efforts to increase environmental stewardship and works to align with likeminded partners in the outdoor industry. Ocean Minded products are made using recycled and environmentally responsible materials whenever possible.

“We’re proud to partner with The Conservation Alliance,” said Andy Palmer, general manager, Ocean Minded. “We (the Company) have a personal focus on keeping the world’s beaches and waterways clean and we look forward to working with John Sterling and his team, who share the same environmental principles and core values, to make an impact.

Since the company’s inception in 1996, Ocean Minded has been organizing community beach clean-ups around the world, educating consumers on the importance of leaving their chosen playgrounds in better conditions than when they were found. The belief that everything eventually ends up in the ocean has led the company to host additional clean-ups in the mountains, as well as on the banks of inland rivers and lakes.

Over the past 30-years, The Conservation Alliance has contributed more than $7 million to conservation projects throughout North America. Conservation Alliance grants have helped organizations in their work to protect more than 49 million acres of land, stop or remove 27 dams, and preserve access to thousands of miles of rivers and several climbing areas.
