BROOKLYN PARK, Minn. – June 14, 2012 – Octane Fitness, LLC (www.octanefitness.com) was recently named one of the Best 100 Companies to Work For by Minnesota Business magazine. In their inaugural year, the awards recognize small, mid-sized and large businesses in the state of Minnesota that make an impact and set the standard of excellence to follow. Winning companies were honored for leadership, benefits, work environment, innovative training programs and most satisfied employees.

Gilmore Research, an independent group, gathered information from 5769 individuals via employee satisfaction surveys over the phone and mail. The awards were presented at a dinner June 4 at The Depot Minneapolis Renaissance Hotel.

Founded in 2001 in Brooklyn Park, Minn., by Lee and Tim Porth, Octane Fitness makes premium cross trainers for homes and health clubs worldwide. It currently offers five health club standing elliptical trainers and three xRide seated ellipticals; for the home market, the company makes three standing models and three xRide seated ellipticals. Products are sold through direct sales and at approximately 300 retail stores in North America and throughout the world through a global network of distributors.
Known for their game-changing breakthroughs, Octane’s products have earned 55 Best Buy awards from leading consumer and trade publications since 2003. And Lee and Porth won the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2007 Award in the consumer products category in the Minnesota/Dakotas region.
