Octane's New LateralX Named Best Elliptical By Health Club Industry

BROOKLYN PARK, Minn. – Oct. 22, 2012 – Just a few months since its debut, the unique LateralX from Octane Fitness, LLC (www.octanefitness.com) earned the Best Elliptical Award in Club Industry magazine’s 10th annual Best of the Best Awards in the health club industry.

The Best of the Best Awards traditionally focus on health club programming, but this year, Club Industry also chose to present awards to industry vendors, who could submit comprehensive applications in four categories: ellipticals, treadmills, stationary bikes and club management software.
Submissions were narrowed to three finalists in each category through online voting from industry professionals.

The three finalists were evaluated by a panel of health club operators and industry consultants during the annual Club Industry Conference and Expo in Las Vegas, where judges could assess and test-ride the equipment at manufacturers’ exhibit booths.

Regarding the LateralX, one judge said, “No other elliptical feels like it does, and it seems incredibly unique. Members love new, exciting offerings, and this provides that from the moment you get on.”

Another judge pointed out about the LateralX, “There is a novelty to this product, but it is strong, tested and solid enough to stay and really entertain and engage users.”

Since it was first launched in March 2012, the LateralX has commanded intense interest, with demand outpacing production and many clubs ordering the product sight-unseen.
