OIA Outdoor University Online Session: Greening Your Personal Life, April 14

Boulder, Colorado (April 11, 2011)
— Outdoor Industry Association invites all members of the outdoor industry to take part in an entertaining Outdoor University® free online session this Thursday, April 14 and learn how to make every day Earth Day by Greening Your Personal Life.

Award-winning climate solutions consultant, world champion extreme skier and KEEN ambassador Alison Gannett will guide participants through her four-step approach to make calculating and reducing your carbon footprint easy, economical and understandable and how to make it practical in your everyday life. She’ll explore how to make cost-effective and life-enriching decisions for meaningful and measurable energy use reductions for travel, home, and business. Gannett’s thought provoking presentation will also address why solar electric cars may actually increase our energy dependence, along with how to spot and resist the lure of green-washing claims that pervade this space.

Gannett is founder of The Save Our Snow Foundation and in 2010 was named “Ski Hero of the Year” by SKI Magazine and “Green All-Star of the Year” by Outside magazine. An accomplished ski mountaineer with a plethora of worldwide first descents, she also photo documents climate change as an environmental scientist. Most importantly, Gannett trains individuals, businesses (including those in the outdoor and ski industry) and governments around the world on her four-step, cost-saving, climate change solutions framework. For more info about Gannett visit alisongannett.com.

Greening Your Personal Life is scheduled for 2 pm (Mountain) on Thursday, April 14 and participation is free for OIA members and non-members. Register today.
