OIWC Partners with Yakima to Host Educational Luncheon

The Outdoor Industries Women’s Coalition (OIWC) has announced they will host an educational luncheon at the Summer Outdoor Retailer Trade Show entitled “Shop Smart: Tips for Better Buying”.

The Outdoor Industries Women’s Coalition (OIWC) has announced they will host an educational luncheon at the Summer Outdoor Retailer Trade Show entitled “Shop Smart: Tips for Better Buying”. The event, underwritten by Yakima, will be held on Friday, August 10th, from 12-1pm at the Salt Lake City Downtown Marriott, Salon F.

Launched in 2006 with tremendous success, OIWC Professional Development seminars and panels are now featured at all the major outdoor industry trade shows. The summer 2007 event is a luncheon panel with experienced female buyers teaching new buyers how to be as efficient and effective as possible during Outdoor Retailer. Seminar panelists include top buyers Linda Givler of REI, Erin Seabury of Everyday Outfitters, Lisa Hollenbeck of Alpine Shop, Sasha Stone of Rutabaga, Ellen Moran of EMS, Kristin Choi of Backcountry.com, and Rebecca Larsen of Altrec.com.

If you’re a buyer, take advantage of the opportunity to ask the panelists for ideas on how to make the most of your time at the trade show, optimizing your store’s purchasing power and profitability. If you’re a manufacturer, or a sales rep, attending this event will better prepare you to present your brand’s product line, programs and merchandising concepts to buyers.
