The 200-gram jacket was judged to be outstanding for its degree of innovation, functionality, weight and size when packed.

The award-winning jacket is indicative of OMM’s philosophy to design unrestricted, innovative technical clothing and equipment required for mountain running and, specifically, for the Original Mountain Marathon races that are the foundation of the OMM brand. These 2-day events are held in the wildest parts of the United Kingdom and other countries in extremely challenging conditions and terrain that tests both equipment and competitors to their limits and beyond. OMM aims to achieve the highest performance for the lowest possible weight in its products.

The OutDoor jury applauded the AVA, saying, “It’s a lightweight, minimalist running jacket. We feel it offers super functionality and has great details—especially the wrist and waist closures.”

About the Original Mountain Marathon races
The OMM race was first held in 1968 as a test of endurance, navigation and mountain skills in wild environments. Unsupported two-man teams visit a series of wilderness checkpoints carrying a tent, sleeping bag and everything they need to survive the mountain environment over two days of adventure.
