Floyd, VA – With just a little over a month remaining, Across-the-Way Productions is working on the final touches of what is slated to be the best FloydFest yet. Themed Rise & Shine, the premiere 4-day outdoor and music event taking place July 25th – 28th in the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains is edging toward a completely sold out weekend.

“We are completely psyched about what is in-store for the 12th annual FloydFest,” notes festival co-founder and producer, Kris Hodges. “The line-up, the outdoor events, the surprises around every corner. We continue to push our creativity further and further to offer up the best outdoor and music experience…ever.”
Fully aware of their growing popularity but wanting to sustain their reputation as an intimate festival, the FloydFest team spent an extensive amount of time dedicated towards revamping infrastructure to ensure patrons enjoy the very best festival experience. Creating a logistical model on par with the excellence of its production, Across-the-Way Productions enlisted civil engineers, transportation teams, a cache of local landowners and their A-list braintrust to increase to a 24-shuttle fleet on the heavy impact days of Thursday and Sunday, as well as an elaborate ‘gear check’ system, off site shower units, ‘plugged’ and ‘unplugged’ campsites for RVs and car-camping, and complete off-site credentialing of all vehicles and patrons.
In addition, FloydFest’s ever-increasing emphasis on the holistic outdoor experience has created a jam-packed schedule of music, art, and outdoor adventures. The weekend boasts over 100 performing artists on 10 stages, over dozens of artisans, specialty craft beverages, a Healing Arts Village, panel discussions with activists and headlining artists on sustainable practices, and Children’s Universe with an extensive children’s area. New for this year, festival goers can relish in the Flower of Life Yoga and DJ Experience, a one-of-a-kind installation that will feature morning Yoga sessions with some of the world’s leading DJs. The space also provides shade and workshop areas throughout each day to liven the spirit. After dark this space will transform into a supernaturally lit performance area. An additional new offering is the Belcher Mountain Beat Down, a guided mountain bike tour that descends the Blue Ridge and finishes with miles of hand-built single-track trail. The 16-mile route includes 1700’ elevation gain and 3500’ of descending. If water is more of your thing, cool down with a float on the Little River. Through a partnership with On the Water, there are five opportunities to escape to the water for few hours of paddling down a gorgeous, undeveloped stretch of the Little River. Trips are limited so be sure to sign up in advance. Check out full details on all FloydFest outdoor adventures here.
