Building on Opinel’s heritage and longstanding commitment to craftsmanship and design, the French knife maker introduces the newest knife in its collection — the No. 12 Explore, designed for trekking, hunting, and fishing. T he No. 12 Explore features a folding stainless steel blade, a 110 dB survival whistle, a fire starter to be used with the back of the blade, and a gutting hook. The robust and sharp Swedish Sandvik steel blade (10 cm) provides a precise cut, and Opinel’s patented locking ring offers additional safety in the folded and open positions. The knife’s handle is made from fiberglass-reinforced polymer, designed to withstand shock, water, and extreme temperatures, and includes a soft elastomer grip for a secure and comfortable hold.

Like all Opinel knives and tools, the No. 12 Explore is made in France at the foot of the Alps. The knife is available in orange and green. MSRP is $49.

“Opinel has been making knives for 126 years, and the No. 12 Explore continues that tradition with a knife designed to meet the needs of the modern adventurer,” said Alex Delecroix, the brand manager in the United States. “This is a must-have tool for hunting, fishing, and other outdoor expeditions.”
