New Task Lighting category will feature unique, rechargeable lights and headlamps, providing novel solutions for outdoor illumination

RIVERTON, WYO. (For Immediate Release) – Brunton, producers of innovative outdoor equipment for over 100 years, provides new solutions for outdoor lighting with their ground-breaking 2012 Task Lighting category.

With a fresh take on camp lantern and headlamp design, Brunton’s Task Lighting category includes a total of seven new lights, several of which feature Brunton’s new SyncTech technology. SyncTech-enabled lights feature USB ports and rechargeable batteries to allow recharging from any USB-ready Brunton solar panel or power storage unit.

“Brunton is committed to innovative design and to the success of our specialty retailers. Our new Task Lighting category is evidence of that,” said John Smithbaker, president of Brunton. “This revolutionary category not only provides outdoor enthusiasts with thoughtful and versatile lighting solutions, it also gives our retail partners new, cutting-edge product to help drive sales.”

All of Brunton’s SyncTech-enabled Task Lights feature a USB connection for quick, easy compatibility with any USB-ready Brunton solar panel or power storage unit. Now, one Brunton solar panel or power pack keeps cell phones, smart phones, MP3 players and several of Brunton’s newest lights up and running when an outlet or extra batteries are nowhere to be found.

Unique and versatile, the Brunton Wow combines a futuristic design with real world functionality. Three flexible, magnetic legs allow the Wow to stick to any metal surface, stand on its own, wrap around a tree branch, or hang from loops inside a tent. For added versatility, the Wow’s legs can be removed for use as a camera tripod. The Wow’s diffuser is removable for use as a flashlight while SyncTech compatibility makes it easy to charge. $47.

Brunton’s new Link comes equipped with a carabiner clip and a five-sided diffuser for hanging, propping up on a flat surface, or placing flat for indirect ‘mood lighting.’ SyncTech-enabled, the Link features both in and out USB ports, allowing you to link as many lights together as you need for the campsite, beach party, or back yard. $35.

Flexible, directional, and bright, the Brunton Noodle plugs directly into any USB port for lighting on the go. Brunton’s SyncTech technology allows the Noodle to run from any USB-ready Brunton power pack for backcountry use or from your laptop to keep the keyboard visible on those overnight flights. A flexible stem allows this light to be pointed in any direction for on-the-spot illumination. $12.

For a new take on headlamps, Brunton introduces the SyncTech-enabled Glacier 115. Available with three rechargeable Brunton AAA batteries, the Glacier can be charged via USB-equipped Brunton power packs, solar panels, or simply run with three standard AAA batteries. The Glacier 115 will cast a beam up to 115 feet for 35 hours on high and up to 10 feet for 120 hours on the energy saver mode. $70.

Debuting at the 2012 Outdoor Retailer Trade Show in Salt Lake City, the complete line of Brunton Task Lighting can be found in the Brunton booth #14009.

About Brunton:

In 1894, D.W. Brunton created the Pocket Transit: a compact, precision compass that freed outdoorsmen from the bulky equipment of the time, and set the course we still follow: never accept, never settle. Our home and headquarters in Riverton, Wyoming, at the foot of the Wind River Range, is both inspiration and proving ground for products created to that creed, made for those who overcome and achieve. The drive to excel changed everything back in 1894; it matters more today. For more information, please visit
