ORSM Preview – Gregory Introduces New Pack Series

Gregory, the industry leader in backpacks and adventure travel gear, announces the addition of several new pack series. The spring 2012 line includes an All Mountain series perfect for overnight trips, as well as an addition to the JetStream pack series extending this line of lightweight, ventilated packs for even larger loads. In addition, an Active Trail series suited for light and fast pursuits round out Gregory’s new offerings.

“When we looked around at what was currently available we realized the market was asking for value driven packs that are feature rich and excel in a number of environments. They simply didn’t exist – so we created them,” says John Sears, Gregory Director of Product Development. “We feel that we have really honed in on what people are looking for across all of our new pack lines. We’ve struck the perfect balance of a robust feature set with a weatherproof system at the right price point.”

The Savantâ„¢ and women’s specific Sageâ„¢, new from Gregory’s All Mountain series, will be available in three sizes ranging from 35 to 58 liters and will comfortably accommodate up to 35lbs. The new Intuition 3D suspension provides incredible comfort in load carrying through a streamlined design by utilizing a cross ridged back-panel with moisture-wicking mesh and a lightweight but sturdy internal wire frame. With integrated rain covers, sidestash quick access pocket, front U-zip access, and a water resistant roll top style lid, these packs are feature rich and versatile.

In response to the overwhelming popularity of its Backpacking Ventilated series, Gregory has created the new men’s Zâ„¢ 75 and women’s Jadeâ„¢ 70 packs. These packs weigh in less than five pounds and can comfortably carry loads up to 50lbs. The two critical points that make the suspension work, at the scapula pads and lower lumbar pad, are the only points of contact with your back allowing for True Ventilation. With an updated front pocket, half-moon zipper access to the main compartment, and Gregory’s proprietary Jetstream Load Transfer Suspension (LTS) with an adjustable waistbelt system, these packs balance substantial load carrying with incredible ventilation and fit.

For “done-in-a-day” enthusiasts, Gregory has expanded on their popular Active Trail series with larger volume packs ranging from 14 to 40 liters. Designed for fast-paced endeavors, both the Furyâ„¢ and women’s Freiaâ„¢ feature breathable harness and waist belt designs that include mesh channels to help the user stay cool. By utilizing the new Kinetic Flexible Transfer System (FTS) suspension, these packs strike a balance between minimalism, versatility and durability while still being able to accommodate loads up to 25lbs.

Gregory will launch their S12 pack line at the summer Outdoor Retailer show Thursday, August 4th through Sunday, August 7th in Salt Lake City, Utah. They will be on display at booth #8026 at the Salt Palace Convention Center.
