LONGMONT, CO (February 4, 2016) – ORTOVOX is celebrating an extremely successful series of trade shows having been showered with six industry and editorial awards from major publications and ISPO during January of 2016.
The brand’s truly unique and innovative use of material technologies coupled with eye-popping design and supreme functionality piqued the attention of some of the most influential experts in the snowsports and outdoor industries.
Beginning at Outdoor Retailer Popular Mechanics, bestowed their “Editor’s Choice” award for the brand’s collection of black SWISSWOOL insulated line of freeride-inspired parkas. Later that month at ISPO, ORTOVOX received four awards. The Andermatt Jacket, part of the black wool collection, was a Gold Winner as was the Peak 45 pack, which employs a compressed SWISSWOOL back panel that effectively manages moisture and temperature.
Debuting at ISPO the all-new AVABAG, developed by the safety experts at ORTOVOX headquarters in Taufkirchen, Germany is now the lightest and smallest avalanche airbag system in the world. The designers were honored to accept the “Product Of The Year Award’’ at ISPO. The new AVABAG will be released in the US market for winter 2017-2018.
ORTOVOX’s new Pordoi Jacket and Pant, was awarded both an ISPO award and a “Show Stopper” award by editors from SKI Magazine at the SIA Snowshow in Denver. The Pordoi Kit features a combination of old-school looks and cutting-edge fabric technology resulting in the perfect blend of performance and style. The kit was created from an A-list roster of materials including a Tasmanian-merino liner, Schoeller c_change membrane and felted Loden SWISSWOOL panels.
