Cortez, CO – January 23, 2017Osprey Packs, a leader in creating top-quality, high-performance packs to comfortably and efficiently carry gear, was named favorite brand by Appalachian Trail Thru-Hikers surveyed by The Trek (formerly AppalachianTrials.com).

In addition to being named favorite pack brand, Osprey’s Exos was named the most popular backpack model/series, Osprey’s Atmos was named the most popular men’s specific pack while Osprey’s Aura was named the most popular women’s specific pack.

“We are thrilled to be recognized as the favorite pack brand by Appalachian Trail Thru-Hikers,” said Vince Mazzuca, Senior Marketing Manager, Osprey Packs. “At Osprey, we work tirelessly to make the most comfortable and efficient packs on the market. To us, this testament from the true thru-hiker is the ultimate validation that we are delivering on our promise.”

This is the third annual survey of long-distance hikers who completed a section or thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail. Three quarters of hikers in the survey (75.3%) were thru-hikers or had walked over 2,000 miles in 2016; a quarter of them (24.7%) were section hikers.

Results from the backpack survey can be read here.
