Cortez, Colo., Jan. 6, 2009- Osprey Packs, Inc, an independent pack company located in the high desert and mountains of Southwestern Colorado, is proud to announce that Osprey’s Exos 46 was awarded the 2009 GOOD DESIGNâ„¢ award list in the Sports and Recreation Category.
The Osprey Packs Exos 46 Backpack was recognized as a 2009 product winner. Additionally, the pack’s designers, Michael Pfotenhauer and Le Nhu Quynh of Osprey Packs, were recognized as Manufacturers as well, in Cortez, Colo.
This is the first time an Osprey Pack and the Osprey Packs design team have been awarded the GOOD DESIGNâ„¢ Award. “It’s a nice honor for Osprey Packs to receive such recognition for our designs along with the likes of Apple and BMW,” said company founder and head designer, Michael Pfotenhauer.
The world famous GOOD DESIGNâ„¢ Award, launched in 1950, is highly respected and includes over 500 awards from over 35 nations. The GOOD DESIGNâ„¢ logo is well received among the world’s top corporations and businesses.
The awards are chosen annually by The Chicago Anthenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design, and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies. The GOOD DESIGNâ„¢ Award endures a rigorous selection process, in which an extensive submission list is filtered before products are judged in New York by an international jury of design professionals, architects, experts and cultural leaders. Despite 2009’s economic downturn, innovative design and product intelligence continues to advance.
“In a world where design and innovation now moves faster than the speed of light, after almost 60 years, GOOD DESIGNâ„¢ remains the most coveted design prize for the most innovative and advanced design produced worldwide,” said Christian K. Narkiewicz-Laine, Museum President, The Chicago Athenaeum, in a GOOD DESIGNâ„¢ Press Release.
