Osprey Packs Partners with REI Outessa Summit

Cortez, CO and Boise, ID – May 3, 2016 – Osprey Packs today announced its sponsorship of the REI Outessa Summit, outdoor weekend getaways for women which offer authentic outdoor adventures led by professional athletes and guides. In its inaugural year, the two weekends will be held at Kirkwood Resort near Lake Tahoe, California, from August 19 to 21, and Powder Mountain near Salt Lake City, Utah from September 9 to 11. Registration opened to the public last week.

As the official pack, travel and hydration sponsor, Osprey will be hosting Backpacking 101 – a two part series which includes how to fit a pack as well as an introduction to backpacking. Osprey will explain proper pack sizing and adjustment as well as how to pack for a comfortable carry and efficient access to frequently used items. The second part of the series allows participants to head out for a hike to a nearby scenic destination and set up camp. Osprey, in partnership with Big Agnes, will offer tips on all the essentials of identifying a good site and setting up your campsite – including tent and sleeping bag selection. Other topics will include Leave No Trace principals, water filtration and more.
