Cortez, CO – May 12, 2010 – Osprey Packs, Inc., a leader in creating top-quality, high-performance, innovative packs to comfortably and efficiently carry gear, has been tapped for a 2010 Editors’ Choice Award from Camping Life magazine for its Osprey Hydraulicsâ„¢ Manta 25 daypack. The full award list is published in the May issue of Camping Life, available on newsstands May 4, 2010.
The Manta 25 is part of Osprey’s new line of hydration packs that includes their proprietary HydraFormâ„¢ reservoir, developed in conjunction with Nalgene®. In awarding it the 2010 Editors’ Choice award, Camping Life said: “Our favorite from the line is the Manta 25. It carries a whopping 1500 cubic inches (25 liters) of cargo and features Osprey’s LightWire peripheral frame and ventilating mesh back panel that keeps the pack off your back and free of sweat, but still keeps it under control while you’re moving with properly fitting shoulder straps and hip belts. The included 3-liter reservoir features a wide mouth for easy filling, and is taste and odor free, BPA and PVC free, and anti-microbial.â€
Said Gareth Martins, marketing director of Osprey, “The Manta 25 was inspired by our desire to address the shortcomings of pack carry with a reservoir, including barreling backpanels, bouncing and sloshing. We think it’s the best Hydration hiking pack out there, and we’re excited to get this great recognition from Camping Life.â€
An ideal size for day-long adventures, the Manta 25 is packed with the features needed for long trail hikes to peak bagging. Two zippered side access slash pockets keep gear organized, while dual stretch woven side pockets with InsideOut™ compression provide versatility for external gear carry. The three-litre HydraForm™ Reservoir has an extra wide mouth for easy filling and cleaning, and features an 180° On-Off Pivot Bite Valve which rotates on and off in either direction.
