Osprey Welcomes A New President and Vice President of Finance; Appoints Chairman of the Board

Cortez, CO – November 17, 2016 –Osprey Packs, the global leader in exceptional, high-performing, innovative packs for outdoor, cycling, travel and urban adventures, announced today the addition of three talented executives to the company’s senior leadership team. Layne Rigney has joined the company as its President and Jason Dunlap as the Vice President of Finance. In addition, Scott Pfotenhauer, a director of the company, has been appointed Chairman of the Board. These additions solidify Osprey’s talented leadership team, allowing the company’s Founder, Mike Pfotenhauer, to fully concentrate his talents and efforts on product design and innovation, as well as the strategic vision for the company.

Layne Rigney, President

Layne Rigney joins Osprey as its President, having most recently served as President of CamelBak. During his 11-year tenure, he also worked as the Senior Vice President of Global Sales from 2011 to 2015 and the Vice President of Global Sales from 2005 to 2011.

He played a key role in CamelBak’s successful sale in August 2015.

“Layne is highly respected as an effective, strategic leader and brings extensive experience in building global consumer brands. He is the right person to lead Osprey through its next phase of growth,” said Mike Pfotenhauer .

Before joining CamelBak, Rigney held positions at Franklin Resource Group as the Vice President and General Manager from 2003 to 2005, at PowerBar as Director of Sports Retail Strategic Business Unit and National Sales Manager from 1999 to 2003, and at RockShox Inc. in various sales positions from 1992 to 1995.

Rigney is a board member of both the Outdoor Industry Association and Camber Outdoors, both of which are supported by Osprey.

As President, Rigney will be focused on the development and expansion of the Osprey brand globally. Rigney’s first day at Osprey is November 28, 2016.

Jason Dunlap, VP of Finance

Jason Dunlap joins Osprey as Vice President of Finance and will oversee the company’s financial operation. He has broad financial expertise having worked for both public and private high-growth companies.

He previously served at Black Diamond Equipment for nine years, most recently as Vice President of Finance. Before that, he worked for Gregory Mountain Products, Montgomery Professional Services and Oracle.

Scott Pfotenhauer, Chairman of the Board

Scott Pfotenhauer began working with Osprey two years ago, helping the company refine its long-term strategic goals while scaling the global business to support customer demand. He joined the board of directors earlier this year and brings more than 40 years of operational and financial experience to the company from his leadership positions at Intel and Morgan Stanley.

As Chairman, Pfotenhauer will focus on developing Osprey team members, driving strategic initiatives and ensuring the company continues to execute at best-in-class levels.
