The Whitewater Symposium,, “The Next Rapid Evolution” is pleased to announce that Chris Fanning, Executive Director of the Outdoor Foundation, will be a key presenter Saturday night at the event. Chris will join many other influential business owners, manufacturers, professionals and leaders in the whitewater industry to present and discuss new ideas in the future of whitewater sports. The Whitewater Symposium will be on October 8-10, 2010 at the Nantahala Outdoor Center (NOC) in Bryson City, NC this year.

Chris will join the Whitewater Symposium in a year that sees a full new board and an exciting new 3 Track program (Business, Development and Paddler). She is an excellent representative of all three tracks, having experience and success with The Outdoor Foundation, which is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to inspiring and empowering the future generations of outdoor enthusiasts and environmental stewards. She also was Vice-President of Partnerships for the Case Foundation, created by AOL founder Steve Case, where she was part of the executive team that developed a new strategic vision for the organization – transforming the institution from primarily a grant-making entity to one that leverages consumer-marketing strategies and web 2.0 technologies to inspire and empower greater charitable giving. She is currently on the pulse of the outdoor industry and will support the goal of the Whitewater Symposium this year, which is to send all attendees home with new knowledge about the industry and inspired to take action in moving forward to promote and encourage the health of whitewater sports.

The Symposium is also excited to be announcing its partnership with the NOC. The NOC, home of the 2013 Freestyle World Championships, is an operation spanning four states, not to mention the 40+ countries visited by NOC’s Adventure Travel trips. Home to 15 USA Canoe/Kayak Olympians and rated the “#1 Vacation with a Splash” by Good Morning America and National Geographic Adventure, Nantahala Outdoor Center (NOC) is both a legend and a leader in the outdoor industry.

“We have designed the 2010 Whitewater Symposium to be a catalyst for relationships and conversations as well as a platform for presentations and demonstrations that strengthen the foundation and create positive change for the future of kayaking.” states James McBeath of World Kayak, a new board member in 2010. “This year there will be a fresh cast of presenters introducing new topics. Attendees should leave inspired and full of fresh new ideas for their business, whitewater club or group of friends.”
