Friedrichshafen, Germany. The outdoor industry is focusing on women by tying nature’s appeal to increasingly popular outdoor fashions. Along with the latest retail themes, women and outdoor activities will be the focus at OutDoor 2006 to be held from 23 to 26 July 2006 at the Friedrichshafen exhibition grounds. According to Rolf G. Schmid, President of the European Outdoor Group (EOG) and head of the Mammut Sports Group AG in Switzerland, “Many of our member companies are already generating significantly higher revenues with their women’s collections. We have to ensure that this growing market trend is reflected at the trade fairâ€.
The trade fair will feature women and the outdoors as a key theme in a variety of ways with “The OutDoor Womenâ€. According to trade fair officials, the OutDoor fashion show will place even greater emphasis on women’s collections. OutDoor 2006 organisers are currently working with the EHI to produce comprehensive information materials for the specialised trade.
OutDoor serves as a global meeting place for the entire outdoor industry. As of February 2006, trade fair registrations were running full speed ahead. With 450 direct exhibitors registered (previous year: 360) and a net total of 23,000 square metres of space rented (previous year: 17,000 sqm), the trade fair team reports strong interest – particularly from companies outside of Germany – and significant gains six months before the start of the event. The share of international exhibitors has already reached 76 per cent. A total of 109 companies, including Trespass, Jeantex, Löffler, Schoeller, Sympatex and other well-known brands, will be returning to OutDoor or exhibiting for the first time.
In its 13th year, the European trade fair will serve as an international platform for the entire outdoor industry. Europe’s market leaders will be joined by all 40 members of the European Outdoor Group at the exhibition grounds in Friedrichshafen. Last year, the event attracted 650 exhibitors from 33 countries along with 15,000 trade visitors from 78 nations.
