Outdoor Industry Association Offers Live Speaker Series for Retailers

Program to provide specialty retailers with education addressing human resources issues in a live, interactive web format provided by BrandLive

(Boulder, Colo.) June 6, 2016 – Outdoor Industry Association (OIA), the trade association and voice for the outdoor recreation industry, is offering a free educational speaker series in collaboration with BrandLive to help specialty retailers navigate human resources topics. The format offers participants and the speaker opportunities for interactive education and participation around HR topics relevant to retail. The first will launch on June 7th with additional sessions on June 14 and 21. Each session begins at 8:00 am Mountain Time. The education host, Lori Kleiman, understands retailers’ needs and resources and has developed this series specifically for the outdoor industry specialty retailer.

Schedule and topics for OIA’s Live Speaker Series are:

June 7 – HR Compliance in a nutshell

Join Lori for a quick overview of hot HR topics impacting your business in 2016 that you MUST be aware of. We will highlight common areas that get store owners in trouble, and what is on the horizon. All participants will receive a free HR compliance checklist.

June 14 – Managing one bad apple

All it takes is one employee to ruin the morale of your team, and possibly keep customers from coming in. Lori will show some tools and suggestions for getting employees aligned with your expectations. And for those who just won’t – an effective way to show them the door! Templates for employee conversations will be provided to all participants.

June 21 – Where’s Waldo: Finding that top employee

Candidates have lots of options when looking for a retail position. How do you set yourself apart so the cream of the crop will come to you. Lori will provide 5 steps to enhance your brand with candidates and help you attract the right people. A tool to write a job positing that will accomplish this task will be provided.
