Outdoor Industry Association to Host Capitol Summit in Washington, DC on April 8-9
REI continues long-standing support as title sponsor
(Boulder, Colo.) March 20, 2014 – Outdoor Industry Association® (OIA) is pleased to announce that registration is now open for the 21st annual Capitol Summit on April 8-9, 2014. The event brings together outdoor industry executives in Washington, D.C. to represent their businesses and to lobby members of Congress and the administration to support industry recreation, trade and business priorities.
The Capitol Summit provides attendees with lobbying training, executive-level networking, and background about OIA’s 2014 policy agenda and legislative asks. In addition, appointments are arranged with members of Congress on the attendees behalf.
“REI attends and sponsors the Capitol Summit because it is an investment in our business and the future of the outdoor industry,” said Marc Berejka, Director of Government Affairs for REI. “The Summit is the industry’s chance to show up, raise our issues and show why the things that matter to our industry – like trade policy and recreation access – matter to the elected officials who make decisions that affect our industry every day.”
The event is free to OIA members, but registration is required. For more information or to register, visit outdoorindustry.org/capitolsummit. Registration by April 4 is suggested and preferred, but the event will remain open until the beginning of the summit.
