Outdoor Retailer Highlights New Products and First-Time Exhibitors

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif. – July 13, 2009 – To better highlight the latest products of the more than 800 returning Outdoor Retailer exhibitors and the 120+ new exhibitors, Outdoor Retailer is launching new programs and revamped planning features to help attendees find new products and new suppliers/manufacturers at this year’s Summer Market.
In addition to adding value to the more than 6,000 expected attending retailers, the new programs and revamped features are focused at responding to key findings from the Outdoor Retailer 2009 Retailer Survey.
“Overwhelmingly, retailers rated finding new products, along with new suppliers and manufacturers, as their number one and two reasons for attending the show,†said Kenji Haroutunian, Outdoor Retailer show director. “This year’s new programs and revamped planning features are aimed at connecting attendees to exactly what they told us they want.â€
The new programs and revamped planning features include the online Product Showcase, New Product Display Case, New Exhibitor Listing Page, New Exhibitor Dossier, along with a more targeted location for the majority of new exhibitors.

Online Product Showcase
Accessible from the Home Page of OutdoorRetailer.com, the online Product Showcase highlights new gear, footwear, components, apparel, accessories and related products with a picture, description, contact info, booth location and link to the exhibiting company’s website. While not a complete representation of the new products being launched at the show, the online Product Showcase gives attendees a feel for some of the industry’s most innovative products and technologies.
New Products Display Case
Upon entering the main doors (east side) of the Salt Palace Convention Center attendees will be greeted by a New Products Display Case. This 30-foot-long case will display the latest products from companies including Brunton, Cascade Designs, Energizer, Gerber, Jolly Pets, Outdoor Industries Women’s Coalition, Repel Insect Repellents and Timolino.
New Exhibitor Listing Page
While planning must-sees, appointments and other Summer Market show activities, attendees can now search out new brands using the New Exhibitor Listing Page. This source is an addition to the searchable exhibitor listing that has been available on the Outdoor Retailer Web site. Attendees can access this source page by clicking on the New Exhibitors button on the homepage of OutdoorRetailer.com.
New Exhibitor Dossier
The New Exhibitor Dossier, a compilation of company names, booth numbers and 50-word descriptions for each of the new exhibiting companies, will introduce attendees to the show’s newest brands and companies. The New Exhibitor Dossier will be available with the show addendum, onsite near show entrances.
New Exhibitors in the Grand Ballroom
Attendees will also easily navigate the more than 100 new exhibitor booths that have been conveniently grouped in the Salt Palace Convention Center Grand Ballroom, which divides the east and south entrances to the show. Show signage along with the Ballroom (BR) abbreviation in the exhibitor listing and floor map will give attendees a clear indication of where the majority of new brands are exhibiting.
“Beyond delivering new products and brands directly to interested attendees, these new programs are also an effort to let attendees know that we are listening and value their feedback,†said Haroutunian. “Collecting feedback and being able to quickly implement it – the way we have with this year’s survey findings – is just one way Outdoor Retailer will continue to serve the needs of the outdoor specialty retailer into the future.â€
