Outside Magazine Names Big Agnes as One of America’s Best Places to Work

(Steamboat Springs, Colo.) – Big Agnes, a leading manufacturer of sleeping bags, pads and tents, has been named to Outside magazine’s “Best Places to Work” list. The company is amongst the 100 most progressive businesses in the country that set the standard for healthy work-life balance.

Outside’s “Best Places to Work” project celebrates the innovative companies that emphasize a work-life balance, a healthy, active lifestyle, and the willingness to give back. The list was compiled with the help of the Outdoor Industry Association and Best Companies Group. The yearlong selection process began with an outreach effort that identified a wide range of non-profit and for-profit organizations with at least 15 employees working in an office in the United States. Participating companies were sent confidential employee-satisfaction surveys and employer-questionnaires to collect information about benefits, compensation, policies, job satisfaction, environmental initiatives, and community outreach programs. The experts at the Best Companies Group then analyzed the results and selected the companies that best enable employees to pursue active lifestyles while also supporting their social and environmental contributions.
To this end, Big Agnes donates to national and local non-profits including Leave No Trace, The Conservation Alliance and Colorado Fourteeners Initiative, among others. Employees are encouraged to participate in mid-week camping trips and to take advantage of the endless backpacking, skiing, riding and running out their back door.
