Outdoor Industries Women’s Coalition (OIWC) Announces

Outstanding Women Leaders in the Snowsports Industry
Awards presentation and Panel discussion on the ‘Are your Women satisfied?” Survey’
January 28th, 2009 at the SIA Seminar Center 4:30-7:00pm

Boise, Idaho, January 13, 2009- The Outdoor Industries Women’s Coalition (OIWC) announces the award winners for supporting women in the Snowsports industry. Tammy Hetrick is the winner of the Pioneering Woman Award (PWA). And Ali Kenney is the recipient of The First Ascent Award (FAA). All winners will be formally presented at SIA during a panel discussion announcing the results of the “Are your Women Satisfied?” survey.

The Pioneering Woman Award (PWA) honors women within the Snowsports Industry who have furthered the vision of the OIWC by demonstrating an outstanding commitment to mentoring female colleagues. This award goes to Tammy Hetrick, Director of Global Sourcing, Burton.

Nominated by Donna Carpenter, Co-owner; Founder and Director Burton Women’s Initiatives, Carpenter states, “Tammy has always taken an interest in helping women advance their careers at Burton. She had years of experience informally mentoring women, especially in her area of operations, and then took that experience and passion and spearheaded both the mentoring programs at Burton. Today, she remains an active member of the WLI, the liaison between Burton and the Coaching Center of Vermont (and the biggest advocate for our women’s coaching program) and, as always, a strong mentor for women in her department. She is a natural leader dedicated to helping develop the women around her into leaders as well.”
