Overland Equipment, manufacturer of bags that provide well-organized solutions for active, everyday use is pleased to announce that the company is donating more than 3000 special edition messenger bags to Northern California Foster Youth Services. With this donation, more than 3000 foster, homeless, and needy students throughout rural northern California will head to back to school this fall with a brand new bag.

“This generous donation from Overland Equipment has brightened the lives of so many children, and relieved the burden of caregivers already challenged to meet the unique needs of their charges,” says Patty Archer-Ward, Coordinator, Foster Youth Services, Placer County. “Overland Equipment provided this unexpected bounty at a time when funding, programs, services and staff have been significantly reduced and families are experiencing additional stress.”

Overland Equipment donated the special edition bags to Region 3 counties of the Northern California Foster Youth Services covering Alpine, Colusa, El Dorado, Nevada, Placer, Sacramento, Sierra, Sutter, Yolo, and Yuba.

“Overland Equipment is pleased to support the great work being done by the Placer County Foster Youth Association,” says Julie Skirving of Overland Equipment. “We wish all the kids involved great success in the year ahead.”

The Foster Youth Services donation comes on the heels of Overland’s recent gift of $2,500 to a new exhibit and education facility at Bidwell Park’s Chico Creek Nature Center in the company’s hometown of Chico, California.

Overland Equipment

For over 27 years, Overland Equipment has designed, developed and manufactured bags with the consistent intent of providing well-organized solutions for active, everyday use. It all started in a Chico, California garage with some cloth, a pair of scissors and a passion for making useful, durable bags. Today, we’re still passionate about creating unique, innovative products. We’ve designed the Overland Equipment line for Fall/Winter 2009 with authentic materials, heavy-duty construction and organization for your everyday essentials. We’ve updated our brand identity, but our bags are still – and always will be – made with the same thoughtfulness, simplicity and natural ruggedness of our Chico roots.
