Chico, CA – Somewhere between the rigid briefcase, the flimsy messenger bag, and the sporty backpack, there’s a bag that meets the needs of men with an active lifestyle that includes work, commuting, and play. OverLand Equipment has found that sweet spot with its new Men’s Collection, a versatile line of bags designed for durability, multi-tasking and style.

“With our men’s line, we sought inspiration from the outdoor exhibition packs we made in our early days, but updated them for the realities of an active, urban life,” says Dave Bartels, OverLand Equipment’s General Manager. “The function and style of these bags are rooted in authentic experiences, and that’s reflected in their thoughtful design features.”

Each of the four bags in the collection is made from durable, water-resistant waxed canvas or junior ballistics materials in rich, woodsy colors such as forest green, slate, sand, indigo, and gunmetal blue. Mocha suede bottoms, substantial metal pullers and sliders in brass, and leather accents give the bags a sophisticated but outdoorsy feel. There’s a bag to meet all the varied needs of professional men who need to stay organized on the go.

The large Tahoe rucksack features multiple access points: one on the top, with two sets of snaps for added security, plus a side zip into the main storage area, making it simple to access the interior 15-inch padded laptop sleeve. In the front pocket, there’s a fleece-lined smartphone pocket, zippered pockets and key clip on the inside, plus a padded tablet sleeve. The adjustable shoulder straps are padded and the sternum strap is removable.

Designed for shoulder or cross-body wear, the Napa messenger bag has a snap-top opening, a 15-inch laptop sleeve and file pocket in the main compartment, plus a separate pocket with a fleece-lined interior smartphone pocket, zip pocket, tablet pocket, and removable key clip. Tucked in the back, there’s a pass-through for wheeled trolley attachment, easing airport travel. The Napa’s adjustable straps are padded.

The Newman tablet bag is a small, secure carrier with top entry, simple drop pockets, a padded tablet sleeve, drop pocket and plus a quick-access front pocket with a key clip.

The small Sonora rucksack is a scaled-down version of the Tahoe, with side and top access, a front pocket and OverLand’s signature padded, adjustable backpack straps.

OverLand Equipment’s Men’s Collection will debut at this upcoming Summer Outdoor Retailer and will be available through select retailers in fall of 2013. For more information, contact Mandy Gresham, mandy@darbycommunications.com.
