Chico, CA – Outdoor retailers will notice a new distinctive look to Overland Equipment’s line of functional and fashionable bags at the 2009 Outdoor Retailer Winter Market in Salt Lake City where the company will debut its updated brand identity, and introduce Julie Skirving and other new additions to the team.
Skirving joins Overland Equipment, bringing with her over 20 years sales and marketing experience in the US and Canadian outdoor industries. Most recently, Skirving led the sales and marketing efforts for the Lolë apparel brand in the US market. Previously, she was involved in various sales and marketing roles with well-known outdoor brands such as Sierra Designs, Royal Robbins, Smartwool, Icebreaker, Arc’Teryx and Teva.
“This is such an exciting time to join Overland Equipment,†said Skirving. “I look forward to the growth of this authentic outdoor brand.†Also collaborating with the current Overland team are Lorin Yin – Development Director, Colin Maginnis -Product Developer and Suzi Pritchett- Product Designer.
Overland Equipment’s new simplified look reflects the natural ruggedness of its Chico, California roots, where the company has designed, developed and manufactured casual bags, totes and packs since 1981.
Overland Equipment’s subtly designed, embossed-leather logo patch, which complements the signature curved lines of every bag, will become a part of the brand’s new identity and give the collection a unified look.
The bags have been made with heavier-duty fabrics for more durability, and a more outdoor-inspired aesthetic. Functional features for the modern world such as organizational pockets and neoprene laptop pockets have been added. The bags’ interiors are lined with bright colored fabric so items can be easily found.
