Pacific Crest Trail Trek and Documentary

The founding members of The Dusty Camel, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, will thru-hike the 2,660-mile Pacific Crest Trail and film their trek in efforts to promote conservation and preservation of Americas wild spaces.

Ian Mangiardi, Andy Laub, and David Dagresta will be maintaining the organizations website, www.TheDustyCamel.org, while on the trail and updating daily accounts with three separate blogs:

Journal – A daily journal (wireless service permitting) will account day-to-day activities, and give the reader a glimpse into the world of a thru-hike and long distance journey. In addition, they will highlight things such as barriers to wild life, ecological habitats, and human impact on America’s wild spaces.

Gear Blog – Highlighting the gear used on a 6-month journey, to help educate those who are interested, so they too can go on adventures of their own with the simple notion that, the more people out in the wild, the more people to preserve it.

Food Blog – in an effort to expand their reach further than just outdoor enthusiasts, they will maintain a blog chronicling the food they eat both on the trail, and along it. The communities, people, and food they eat will be highlighted to further their cause.

This 6-month journey will be had to reach out to the masses in order to help inspire people to have adventures of their own. They work with people to give advice, suggestions, and use their product knowledge to help others journeys be successful. In addition to website maintenance, they will be filming their trek to bring to the masses a feature length documentary highlighting the personal sacrifices, the trail, and the reasons to protect the lands which they journey through.

About The Dusty Camel:
After meeting on the Appalachian Trail, Ian, Andy and David came together to figure out a way to give back to the land that treated them so well. They created The Dusty Camel to reach out to people and inspire them to adventure in the outdoors, protect, and protect the right to roam freely. The organization also hosts others adventures, serving as a “WordPress” of the outdoor industry.
