Paddle for Cure raises over $10,000 for Breast Cancer Research
The 5th Annual Paddle for the Cure to benefit the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund was held Sept. 26th at Mountainman Outdoor Supply Company in Old Forge, NY. Over 200 paddlers, along with corporate sponsors, raised over $10,000.

OLD FORGE, New York – The 5th Annual Paddle for the Cure to benefit the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund of CNY, Inc. was held Saturday Sept. 26th at Mountainman Outdoor Supply Company in Old Forge, NY. Over 200 paddlers gathered for this year’s event. Participants, along with corporate sponsors, helped to raise over $10,000 this year for breast cancer research. All of the monies raised go back to Upstate Medical University Hospital in the form of research grants for breast cancer research.
Mountainman Outdoor Supply Company hosted the event this year and provided free shuttle service on the Moose River for all participants and also donated a portion of all canoe and kayak rentals to the fund. They also provided hot dogs and snacks at the end of the paddle along with some great musical entertainment by Doug Green. All the paddlers commented on how great of a time that they had and what a great event this was. They all pledged to be back again next year for the 6th Annual Paddle for the Cure, which will once again be held at Mountainman.

The Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund, Inc., supports both new and established researchers investigating the causes, prevention and treatment of breast cancer. This research will include—but not be limited to—studies of the genetic, molecular, cellular and environmental factors involved in the development and progression of breast cancer; application of the knowledge thus gained to educate medical professionals and increase public awareness for the prevention, detection and treatment of breast cancer; and studies of the outcomes of breast cancer detection and treatment on the patient, their families and society.
