VENTURA, California – Patagonia has promoted longtime Patagonia territory sales manager, Sven Shiers, to Eastern Regional Sales Manager. In his new position, Shiers will be managing eight sales representatives.
Shiers brings to this position 29 years of sales experience as both a sales representative and retail buyer. He spent the past 12 years managing the Mid-Atlantic sales territory for Patagonia, where he oversaw retailers in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland and Washington D.C., as well as national accounts. Prior to working at Patagonia, he was an independent sales representative at the Outdoor Resource Group and also worked at Nestor’s Sporting Goods in Pennsylvania.
“Sven’s experience developing Patagonia’s business in the Mid-Atlantic territory, and his prior experience both as a retail buyer and as a sales rep prepares him extremely well for this position,” said Walt Bailey, Director of North American Wholesale. “He has had significant input and involvement in many of the changes we’ve put into place in the last several years in our wholesale business overall, which makes him an ideal candidate to step in and continue to help evolve our wholesale business regionally and nationally.
Shiers resides in New Jersey and when he’s not working he enjoys snowboarding, surfing, road and mountain biking and spending time with his family.
