Patrick Deneen, US Ski Team athlete, 180s (www.180s.com) sponsored athlete, and recently crowned 2009 FIS World Freestyle Ski Champion, today was ranked number one for USSA Mogul Skiing for the second year in a row. Deneen attained first place status after coming off of his last competitive win in Japan at the FIS World Freestyle Skiing Championships last month where he ousted Finland’s Tapio Luusua.

During his off-season, Deneen resides in his hometown of Cle Elum, Washington on the Eastern slopes of the Cascade Mountains where he will begin his training for next season and his quest for an Olympic medal next January in Vancouver. In addition, Deneen will be working with 180s, developer of intelligently designed outdoor gear, accessories and apparel, to establish a platform with helmet safety.

Five years ago when first partnering with the 180s brand, Deneen was instrumental in developing 180s’ QUANTUM VENT GLOVEâ„¢, a high-performance ski and board glove that cools overheated hands with a patent pending adjustable venting system, which he still wears today during competition.

“180s is continuing our support for Patrick over the next ten months as he works toward the ultimate goal of becoming a lead team member of the 2010 U.S. Olympic Ski Team,” said Keith Scully, marketing director for 180s. “We look forward to his insights on product development and are pleased to have his expertise.”

“The past two years have moved very fast; I have not only learned a lot about my skiing, but also, gained valuable life experiences from traveling around the world,” Deneen said. “Learning that I have reached the top of the list for USSA mogul skiing is a great way to end my 2009 season and an amazing start to my training that will begin again this month as I pursue my Olympic dreams.”
