Laval, Quebec- Pelican International, the leading manufacturer of kayaks, stand-up paddleboards (SUPs), canoes, pedal boats and fishing boats, made a big splash at this year’s Outdoor Retailer Summer Market Tradeshow in Salt Lake City. After announcing this spring that it had celebrated its two-millionth boat come off the assembly line at the company’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Laval, Quebec, Pelican received visitors at OR in a new, larger booth featuring every convenience, proving once again Pelican International’s intention to consolidate its position as an industry leader.
Visitors were all impressed by the efficient layout of the booth and by the elegance of the displays that paraded the 2015 line-up. Attendees were also thrilled by the range of choice of colours for 2015—more evidence of Pelican’s commitment to not only being a leader in the area of materials and engineering, but also to being a flagship company when it comes to design and colour trends in this very specific field of outdoor aquatic sports.
Pelican revealed several new recreational and fishing kayaks. Elie, a brand designed for more advanced paddlers, launched four new Coast sit-on-top models, adding to the Strait and Sound sit-in families. Hype could be felt around SUPs at Open Air Demo day, as Pelican presented six SUP models, including the super versatile Cross-X board. 2014 proved yet to be another successful year as attendees lined up to test Pelican’s various models.
