Pertex® fabrics selected for Marmot’s premium sleepinging bags

Clitheroe, UK – Pertex®, designer and manufacturer of high-performance fabrics, was selected to provide a range of fabrics for Marmot’s premium sleeping bags. Marmot’s 2012 Plasma Series and Gas Bag Series sleeping bags will all be made with Pertex® Quantum and Pertex® Microlight fabrics.

The Marmot Plasma sleeping bags are some of the most technologically advanced bags on the market. Developed with Pertex® Quantum, offering the best strength to weight ratio of fine denier fabric available, the Plasma Series bags have received product awards from Backpacker, Outside and National Geographic Adventure magazines. The use of Pertex® Quantum fabric in the sleeping bag increases packability by fifty percent and reduces the weight (compared to standard sleeping bag fabric) by nearly half.

Along with the addition of the new Plasma 40 bag this year, all of Marmot’s award winning Gas Bag Series made with 850 fill goose down will now feature Pertex® Microlight fabric.
