Platypus today announced the addition of the super versatile, all-mountain trail riding Duthie A.M. 10 hydrationpack to its successful line of mountain bike packs launched in 2013.
The new Duthie pack comes with all the features riders expect from an all-mountain pack, in a streamlined design that makes it the top choice for any ride. The lightweight pack offers the ability to carry a full-face or XC helmet and pads on the uphill and quick access to the energy bars, gels, hydration, tools and other gear to support backcountry singletrack rides.
“We built the Duthie 10 for hard-charging, all-mountain riders who ride everything from DH shuttle sessions to Enduro to all-day backcountry epics,” said Erik Flink, director of Platypus Hydration and Filtration. “The pack’s lightweight streamlined design and essential all-mountain feature-set will redefine riders’ expectations of an all-mountain hydration pack.”
The Duthie A.M. 10-liter pack comes with Platypus’ premium 3.0L Big Zip LP Reservoir—a new, low-profile reservoir that allows the pack to ride flat against a rider’s back even when fully filled. The BPA-free, taste-free reservoir also features SlimeGuard™ Silver Ion antimicrobial treatment to keep the yucky stuff from colonizing, a wide-mouth opening for easy washing and filling, and a quick-release hose at the bottom for fast, easy removal from the pack without rerouting the hose.

The unique Duthie pack also features two pump sleeves for tire and shock pumps, tool and tube pockets, a fleece lined eyewear pocket, ventilated suspension, magnetic hose retention and integrated reservoir hang hooks. It will be shown at the Outdoor Retailer Summer Market in Salt Lake City, Utah, and will be available for purchase online and at retail stores in January 2014.
