Platypus Hydration Names Jay Bublitz as Product Manager

Bublitz to develop, evaluate, and implement new innovative technologies

SEATTLE, WA (November 19, 2014) — Platypus Hydration, the Seattle-based manufacturer of high-performance outdoor hydration equipment, today announced Jay Bublitz as its new product manager.

In his new position, Bublitz will assist Platypus Brand Director Erik Flink in developing a comprehensive product line strategy and lead development teams to find innovative solutions for Platypus customers. Bublitz will also work to communicate new product information internally and externally, while supporting products already in the marketplace.

“Jay’s previous experience as product development engineer for K2 Sports gives him a well-balanced skillset to tackle the challenges of this new position,” said Flink. “We’re confident that Jay will help expand our product collection and develop and evaluate new groundbreaking product technologies.”

Bublitz, who is an avid cyclist, backcountry skier, and mountaineer, previously served as product development engineer for K2 Outdoor Group where he oversaw product development for the Atlas and Tubbs Snowshoe lines. Previously, he served as the product development manager for Bellacure, Inc., a manufacturer of osteoarthritic treatment devices. Bublitz holds a B.S. in mechanical engineering from University of Washington in Seattle, WA.

“Platypus is an incredible brand with a rich heritage and a loyal following,” Bublitz said. “I’m proud to join an exceptionally creative team and I look forward to expanding Platypus’ unique product collection.”
