STOCKHOLM (Jan. 28, 2015) — POC, a leading manufacturer of skiing and cycling helmets, apparel and accessories, has been awarded the 2015 ISPO Award for the Auric helmet and Super Palm Comp ski racing glove.
Every year ISPO, the international exhibition for sporting goods, athletic footwear and fashions, honors the most exceptional sporting goods with the ISPO Award. A jury consisting of independent sports business professionals evaluates several hundred entries following clearly defined criteria. This premium selection presents an orientation for both sports business professionals as well as end-consumers.
POC is pleased to announce that two of its new products for the 2015/2016 winter season, the Auric helmet and the Super Palm Comp glove, have earned a 2015 ISPO Award.
“I’m very proud of the entire POC team and we are honored to receive such a prestigious award for the Auric helmet and Super Palm Comp glove,” says Oscar Huss, head of product development at POC. “Both products are extremely relevant and will help us continue to promote our strong mission of doing the best we can to possible save lives and reduce the consequences of accidents.”
The all-new Auric helmet has been developed in collaboration with POC team athlete Aaron Blunck and is lightweight and highly ventilated, with a durable ABS shell and a multi-impact EPP liner. The Auric provides increased protection for the ears and temples and is compatible for use with a beanie and goggles underneath.

Aaron Blunck debuted the Auric helmet at X Games in Aspen, where he rode to 13th in the Men’s Ski Superpipe competition.
The Super Palm Comp is a dedicated ski racing glove that offers a high level of protection, comfort and grip. The palm is made from high quality goatskin and the back of the hand is made from a durable ceramic-coated fabric with abrasion resistant properties. The Super Palm Comp has molded EVA foam padding over the fingers and knuckles and also uses POC’s award-winning and impact absorbing VPD 2.0 for enhanced protection.

Both the Auric and Super Palm Comp will be presented at the SIA SnowShow in Denver, January 29 to February 1, and ISPO Munich, February 5-8, as part of POC’s 2015/2016 Snow product line. To schedule an appointment to see the new Aaron Blunck collection and the full POC product line at the SIA SnowShow, please email brian.holcombe@backbonemedia.net.
