– Point6, designer and manufacturer of premium merino wool socks, is pleased to announce it is moving all production from China to the USA. The move to US soil will allow the company to have better control over inventory management, product quality and to be more involved on a daily basis with the product development process.
“We are seeing an increased demand for Point6 socks and we need to quickly react to the market and more closely oversee quality as we grow,†said Peter Duke, CEO and co-founder of Point6. “It makes economic sense for Point6, and doing our part to bring jobs to the US and positively impact the national economy is part of our CSR philosophy as well,†he added.
Product Developer, Brad Pass, who has worked with Point6 since 2009, is responsible for developing the knitting technology to produce the increasingly complex Point6 designs. “Our designs require the precision of very specialized knitting machines in order to achieve the fit, durability and ultra-smooth toe closure for which Point6 is known. Pass, who is based in Tennessee, can now be in the factory daily to facilitate hands-on product development and better oversee the entire manufacturing process.
Point6 expects to be shipping entirely made-in-the-USA inventory by early 2012.
