ST. LOUIS – April 25, 2018 – Backpacker Magazine kicks off its 18th annual Get Out More Tour April 25 at the North Country Trail Association’s celebration in Hocking Hills, Ohio, and performance eyewear company Popticals joins the 200-day tour as a first-time, official eyewear sponsor.

“With our focus on adventure travel and outdoor recreation, and the Tour’s focus on educating and inspiring people to get outdoors, it was a natural fit for us to join the tour,” said Popticals Marketing Manager Preston Porter. “It’s a great opportunity to connect with consumers looking for the latest gear demos and information about getting outside.”

For the next seven months, Backpacker Magazine’s brand ambassador Randy Propster will be out on the road sharing his passion, experience, and knowledge with outdoor enthusiasts across the country. Besides Popticals, other Tour participants include Ford Motors, Adventure Medical Kits, Backpacker’s Pantry, ENO, Farm to Feet, Hydrapak, LEKI, Osprey Packs, Salomon, Sawyer Products, Sea to Summit, Wacaco Minipresso, and Yakima Racks.

Popticals launched in 2016 with its patented FL2 Micro-Rail System® equipped eyewear solving the problem of how to safely store wrap-around performance sunglasses when not in use. They quickly and easily compact down to half their size for storage in a portable carrying case.

To match the level of innovation in its frame design, Popticals partnered with Carl Zeiss Vision to develop their crystal-clear NYDEF™ nylon lenses. Popticals NYDEF lenses are 18 percent lighter than polycarbonate lenses and rival the clarity of glass. The result is eyewear that provides a better outdoor experience. The USA designed, made in Italy eyewear MSRPs range from $169 to $239.
