Woodstock, CT – The Rogers Corporation’s PORON® Cushioning team is excited to once again partner with the premier timber sporting event in the nation: the 52nd Annual Lumberjack World Championships taking place July 29-31 in Hayward, WI.

Thousands of spectators will converge in the small town of Hayward to witness the world’s finest lumberjacks participate in the “Granddaddy” of all timber sports competitions. Athletes will compete in events such as the 90 foot Speed Climb, Underhand Chop Block, Log Rolling, Hot Saw, Springboard Chop and much more.

“We are excited to be part of the Lumberjack World Championships for a second year to support these amazing athletes and fans,” states Dave Sherman from Rogers Corporation. “We had a great time, and with the numerous work boot styles our products are designed into, it is a great fit for our brand. Sponsoring the event allows us to help celebrate the great history of the timber community as well as inform attendees about the benefits of our PORON Products.”

PORON Cushioning is a high-performance foam that is designed into products such as work boots, helmets and insoles to name a few. One of the major advantages of the product is it will not break down during repeated use. PORON Cushioning partners include Red Wing, Fox Racing, UGG and Rawlings among many others,

Diane McNamer, the Event Director, says, “The Championships began in 1960 as a celebration of the logging community. Since that time, the event continues to grow and is attended by the top athletes competing in their sport.” Diane continues by adding, “Athletes from Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Czech Republic and US will compete over three days challenging their physical and mental skills in events that originated in the forests of America.”

In addition to the competitions, there will be numerous activities for attendees to enjoy and participate in. Want to test your skills at log rolling? Head over to the rolling tank. Just want to relax and enjoy some great food? Take a stroll to the Lumberjack Village. One hint – make sure you have an empty stomach as portions are made for lumberjacks.
