Boulder, CO – Specialty ski apparel brand Powderhorn announced today the addition of two new sales agencies to its growing sales force, another move aimed at strengthening the brand’s presence in specialty ski retail.
Focusing on important ski territories with key specialty accounts, the newest additions to Powderhorn’s sales team include Victor DeGeorge in the Southeast and Ruby and Tom Pike in the Northwest.
Raised in Louisville, KY, DeGeorge is a life-long skier who fled west to the mountains of Colorado, where he spent over a decade working ski retail in Steamboat Springs and as the assistant hardgoods manager for Flatiron Sports in Crested Butte. Now based in the High Country of North Carolina, DeGeorge also represents Head Skis and Leki Alpine Poles and has ambitious plans to take Powderhorn to Miami, Atlanta, and all points in between the Appalachian Mountains.
No strangers to the world of specialty retail, ski industry veterans Ruby and Tom Pike also bring a wealth of specialty sales experience to Powderhorn for the coming season.
At one time the supervisor of the Skier Services Department for the accessories shops at Copper Mountain, Ruby Pike bring additional experience in sales and marketing to the forefront, having managed retails and sales for brands such as Marker, Nordica Apparel, and Seirus. And as a shop rat and junior ski racer growing up in California, Tom Pike has lived his live on the slopes and also as an assistant manager for Christy Sports in Colorado and Olympic Sports outside of Seattle, where he held the buying position for ski hardgood and cycling. Now, along with Powderhorn, Tom also represents Dalbello, Elan and Scott.
“These two teams were chosen for their ability to sell and service Powderhorn within the specialty market,†said Doug Saunders of Powderhorn USA. “Their brand portfolio and background make them the ideal fit and they all add a depth of experience that will be important as Powderhorn looks to grow its consumer base.â€
Founded in Jackson Hole, Wyoming in 1972, and originally staking its claim in the world of ski fashion with its western-inspired, down-filled, shoulder-yoked ski parkas, Powderhorn had a legendary following for its classic styled ski jackets. Loyal to its roots, for 2010 Powderhorn combines true ski fashion with the latest fabrics and textiles for a comprehensive collection of mid-weight layers and outerwear tops and bottoms that is truly inspired by the allure and mystique of the mountains.
