In his new role as President, Mr. de Gorter will oversee all aspects of the company, including sales, marketing, advertising, distribution, training & education, corporate planning and public relations. He also will work closely with parent company Power Plate® International, headquartered in London, on global product and marketing initiatives.

PPNA is recognized as the leader in Acceleration Training™ fitness machines, which incorporate advanced vibration technology at different programmed frequencies during exercise naturally activating muscle contractions 30-50 times per second for faster results than traditional workout methods. The unique technology in Power Plate® machines also enhances stretching activity, improves bone density and provides a variety of engaging options for recovery, relaxation and physical therapy.

“I’m very enthusiastic about joining Power Plate® to help chart the course for the company’s success in North America having experienced firsthand the myriad benefits it provides serious athletes, trainers and anyone interested in improving personal fitness,” said de Gorter. “The science behind Power Plate® technology and the efficacy of the product, demonstrated through both clinical research and practical performance, is the best-kept secret here in the U.S. and I can’t help but get excited about the opportunities.”

Mr. de Gorter has held numerous senior executive-level management and marketing positions throughout his career. He began his career at J. Walter Thompson/USA working on the Health & Tennis Corporation of America (HTCA) advertising account and helped lead its transition to the company currently known as Bally Total Fitness, which he later joined and managed all advertising and marketing efforts during one of the most dynamic periods in the fitness industry. After 10 years with Bally, he joined L.A. Gear as director of marketing for the athletic footwear division and pioneered cutting-edge programs utilizing athletes such as Joe Montana, Wayne Gretzky and Karl Malone, ultimately leading all marketing for the men’s business side, including athletic and lifestyle lines.

He later joined MET-Rx USA as vice president, marketing, where he grew the business from $60 million to more than $150 million in just two years based on a sound strategy of leveraging emerging market segments and expanding product lines, completely repositioning the brand and successfully transforming the MET-Rx name into one of the most well-known in the industry. He went on to become president and COO for NTN/Buzztime, a publicly held company specializing in new media, interactive sports games and entertainment where he engineered the company’s financial and operational turnaround and established it as the leading provider of expanded interactive communication and entertainment services to the hospitality industry.
