Nordic Combined Skier and PowerICE™ Athlete Todd Lodwick
To Carry the American Flag at the Opening Ceremonies in Sochi
February 6, 2014 (Steamboat Springs, Colo.) – Nordic Combined skier and PowerICE™ athlete, Todd Lodwick, is headed to his sixth Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia. Lodwick is the first United States winter athlete to qualify for the Olympic games six times. This great accomplishment has earned Lodwick the honor of carrying the flag for Team USA at Opening Ceremonies on Friday, February 7th. Join us in congratulating Todd from the PowerICE team!
With one of the more impressive resumes in sport, the 37-year-old still has what it takes to compete with the best in the world. Lodwick’s off-season training is critical and PowerICE is thrilled to be a part of his warm weather program. “Everyday of training has to be as productive as possible. I use PowerICE™ for recovery and to increase my endurance.” According to Lodwick, “It works!”
Why is PowerICE beneficial to athletes? It’s proven that the effects of cooling the core body temperature can increase performance in athletes. Cooling gloves and vests are effective but are expensive and not always convenient. Recent studies conducted by Edith Cowan University in Australia, show that runners who ingested iced product before workouts in hot, humid conditions ran 19% further before exhaustion set in. PowerICE™ can be purchased unfrozen or frozen and are conveniently packaged to be used before, during or after an athlete’s workout.
About PowerICE:
PowerICE is an innovative, great tasting, frozen, and hydrating ice bar designed to enhance the performance of athletes by cooling the core body temperature while replenishing lost electrolytes. Want to know more? Visit us at: www.powerice.com
