Award-winning British power brand signs as Official Partner of Red Bull X-Alps 2015

Born in 2003, the Red Bull X-Alps is the world’s toughest adventure race, a bold claim, but one it surely deserves. In 2015, Powertraveller will be powering the athletes’ devices as an official partner.

The concept is a simple one. Approximately 30 athletes must race through the Alps, by foot or paraglider, a straight-line distance of approximately 1,000km. The unique adventure is something that has attracted and tested to the limit some of the world’s top adventurers over the last 10 years.

Among adventurers, it’s known as the ultimate race. It’s an incredible challenge, demanding not only expert paragliding skill but extreme endurance. Some athletes will hike over 100km in a day and will have covered over 900km on foot by the time the race is over!

Each team consists of one Athlete and one Supporter. No technical or outside assistance is allowed. The Supporter is just there to help with logistics, food and mental help. Athletes can race between the hours of 05:00 to 22:30. Since 2013, athletes can each pull one ‘Night Pass’ that allows them to push-on through the night on foot.

Powertraveller is extremely proud to announce an official partnership agreement with Red Bull X-Alps 2015.

The company will be supplying all Red Bull X-Alps participants with product to keep their essential devices such as GPS charged through the grueling race and existing brand ambassador Squash Falconer will be covering the event.

“I’m really looking forward to working with Powertraveller to support the partnership with Red Bull X-Alps 2015” says Squash. “In the run up to the event, I will be interviewing participants and demonstrating the products so they are set for when the race begins.”

Squash will be following the race in July on a BMW R nine T motorbike, courtesy of Bahnstormer Alton in Hampshire, which will be specially customised for the Red Bull X-Alps 2015.

Vicki Parlour, Marketing Manager for Powertraveller says “To be an official partner of this epic event is fantastic for our brand and really cements the lifestyle which our products aim to inspire.”
