Woodinville, WA – With an array of improvements inside and out, Precor launches redesigned C966i and C956i low impact, heavy commercial treadmills
with new styling, durability and a dynamic new drive system.
The improvements come in addition to a new display design that integrates entertainment and simplifies operation, and distinguishes Precor’s heavy commercial ExperienceR series of cardio equipment.
“In addition to implementing entertainment and display design changes across the entire ExperienceR series of heavy commercial cardio equipment, we’re taking significant steps to make Precor treadmills more inviting and enjoyable for the user, as well as more durable, with a reduced total cost of ownership,” said Chris Torggler, senior vice president of Precor’s Commercial Division.
At the heart of the new display is a simple set of Tap Control(tm) “paddles” that control speed and incline, responding with a click to confirm input.
A modular entertainment controller that seamlessly integrates Cardio Theater receiver and personal viewing screen controls, and a 10-key pad that accepts cardio programming or entertainment selections, provide easy-to-use options for users to enter their choices. Additionally, gateway buttons can be used to directly access program categories. Modular design of high-wear items,
and use of durable dome switches reduces maintenance costs.
An optional, integrated Cardio Theater personal viewing screen is designed to flow directly out of the top of the display.
On C966i and C956i treadmills, the new display is framed within a larger, streamlined console that’s complemented by cantilevered handrails, to provide treadmill users with a reassuring “wrap around” feel.
The redesign also introduces an “IFT Drive” variable-speed AC drive system that leverages leading-edge technology to produce subtle speed changes key to Integrated Footplant TechnologyR, a central technology in delivering Precor’s smooth, fluid feel.
In addition to performance benefits, the new drive increases reliability and durability, plus Power Factor Correction (PFC) technology reduces power consumption by 30 percent on 120-volt models.
Both models are designed for heavy commercial use, featuring Ground Effects* impact control, which decreases impact and reduces lateral motion, and
Integrated Footplant* technology to produce a smooth and natural-feeling stride. Touch heart rate provides accurate readings, and SmartRate*
displays user heart rates in relation to ideal training zones. Finally,Precor’s one-touch QuickStart* system lets users begin with a single
keystroke.
