Premier Road Marathon Coming to Breckenridge, Colorado

April 28th, 2014 – Bad to the Bone Endurance Sports and Vertical Runner-Breckenridge have announced a partnership to bring a major road marathon to Breckenridge, Colorado. The race will be held September 20, 2014, as fall colors begin to turn in Colorado and the temperatures are perfect for road racing.
“Breckenridge is an active town – everyone knows that from its skiing roots” explains Alyssa Godesky, Director of Marketing for Bad to the Bone Endurance Sports. “But Colorado is also home to some of the best running in the country and Breckenridge is at the heart of that!”
“The beginning of fall is the best time of year for a road race in Breckenridge” says Ryan Morgan, co-Owner of Vertical Runner- Breckenridge. “The foliage backdrop of the golden aspens is spectacular and the temperature is perfect. The fast course will attract road runners of all backgrounds looking for a challenge and a perfect weekend in the mountains.”
The Breckenridge Marathon will start in Downtown Breckenridge, giving runners a breathtaking view of the Tenmile Range surrounding the Town. The course will follow the Recreational Bike Path out toward historic Frisco and Copper Mountain Ski Resort. It will then return to Downtown Breckenridge to finish at the scenic and historic Blue River Plaza, setting the stage for a memorable and festive post-race party.
