BROOKLYN PARK, Minn. – Aug. 2, 2007 – Octane Fitness, a leading manufacturer of multiple award-winning, premium elliptical cross trainers, benefits home exercisers with superior, health club-quality workouts with the introduction of its top-of-the-line Q47 Series elliptical cross trainers for home use.
“The Q47 Series is incredibly revolutionary, and nothing available compares to these third-generation models,” said Tim Porth, executive vice president of product development and marketing for Octane Fitness. “Fully equipped with our signature SmartStride interactive ergonomics and Converging Path handlebars, these ellipticals are definitely our most advanced ergonomically.”
Breakthroughs Improved and Merged
Unique to Octane, the patented SmartStride interactive ergonomics perfect lower-body motion, which is the defining element of all ellipticals. To replicate natural movements like walking, jogging, running and moving backward, SmartStride analyzes an exerciser’s pace and direction and intelligently adjusts stride length accordingly throughout workouts. Plus, now SmartStride custom-fits exercisers with the unique Hip Indexing Pivot (HIP), which scientifically determines an appropriate stride length based on the user’s leg length and speed.
For the upper body, the breakthrough, patented Converging Path handlebars on the Q47 Series yield greater comfort than traditional handlebars that force arms into a rigid, straight, back-and-forth swing. Converging handlebars move inward at an angle as an exerciser presses forward, just as one’s arms naturally move toward the midline when walking, jogging or running; then they comfortably open by the same amount on the backswing.
Benefits include:
·Minimal torque and repetitive stress
·Longer range of motion increases muscle involvement
·More open access to the elliptical’s console simplifies programming or grabbing a water bottle
Fully Loaded to Perform
The health club-quality Q47 Series boasts several other trademark Octane features for optimum performance. Among them:
·MultiGrip handlebars let exercisers choose from several positions for custom-fit and variety
·Electronically adjustable stride length in ½” increments from 18-26”
·New softgrip pedals add comfort and safety
·Close pedal spacing at 1.8” virtually eliminates back stress
·Now customizable, X-Mode, GluteKicker and ArmBlaster workouts capitalize on interval and cross training
·Variable stride workouts uniquely combine resistance, stride length and direction
Also included are heart rate monitoring on the Q47e model via wireless telemetry using a chest strap, and on the Q47ce model, using telemetry and digital contact hand sensors.
A new fan in the console helps keep exercisers cool, and resistance and stride length buttons on the moving handlebars makes adjustments a snap.
The Q47 Series will be available by September 2007 in specialty fitness retail stores worldwide, with manufacturer’s suggested retail prices (MSRP) of $3,599 for the Q47, $3,999 for the Q47e, and $4,199 for the Q47ce.
