DÜSSELDORF, 20 March 2014 – Anderson Lee, President and CEO of Pinneco Research Limited, was invited to be a speaker at the Sustainable Fibre-to-Textile Workshop 2014, hosted by Control Union at the Van der Valk Airporthotel Düsseldorf this past week.
The Sustainable Fibre-to-Textile Workshop 2014 is an event that brought together brands and manufacturers in a workshop that reviews and highlights a variety of sustainable fibre program case studies around the world. It is an industry-wide event that acknowledges the importance of sustainability.
This event took a full-day agenda planned with nine programs and one panel discussion. Topic areas include “Sustainable Fiber Program: a case study sharing from India,” “Review of the Sustainable Textile Standards (GOTS/OCS/CCS/GRS/RCS),” “Certification FAQ and Case Studies,” Low Carbon Manufacturing Program,” “Energy Efficiency Solutions in the Textile industry,” “Risk mitigation through Animal Welfare Standards Case Study: Responsible Down Standard,” “Product Traceability through Trade N Trade (TNT),” “Workshop: Understanding Water Risk in Textile Supply Chains,” and “Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC) Update on the Higg index 2.0.” As the Board Member of the SAC, Lee gave a detail update to industry members on the updates of the Higg Index 2.0.
“The Higg Index1.0 has moved from an excel-based qualitative questionnaire that focuses on apparel and environment, to the Higg Index 2.0, a web-based platform, which also includes social and labour modules,” Lee explained. ”
